YOUR CONSIGNMENT

When you leave goods with us for sale you are given a Unique Consignment Number:  this is a permanent reference which you should have to hand when you call. Your Consignment Receipt summarises the goods accepted by us for sale on your behalf; it is not intended to be exhaustive.  If you are present then you will be asked to sign the Consignment Receipt as an acknowledgement of the goods you have left with us for sale.  If you are not present the Consignment Receipt will be sent on to you and the details contained therein will be deemed to be correct unless we receive a written query from you within 7 days of the date of the Consignment Receipt.

CHARGES

Any goods uplifted by us will be subject to a transportation/haulage charge.  This will be charged at our standard hourly rate (£50 +vat per hour) unless a fixed fee is previously agreed.

ADVERTISING/ADMINISTRATION

A charge of 10% to cover advertising, web listing and digital photography will be charged with any administration or insurance costs, unless an alternative fee has been agreed in writing prior to the goods being offered for sale.

SALE COMMISSION

The standard rate of commission is 10% of the total sale value of the goods achieved in any one sale subject to a minimum charge of ,25 for consignments under auction vale of ,100.All charges are subject to VAT.

RESERVE PRICES

All goods are offered without Reserves unless you give particular Written Reserve Price instructions.  However, you should note that some of your goods may be offered by the auctioneer with an AIn-House Reserve@ set at his discretion and in line with his valuation.  Any goods left with your Reserve Price will incur a sale commission charge of 5% of the Reserve Price each time they are tried for Sale.  Goods left with a Reserve will not be disposed of without further instruction from you.

NO SALE

The goods you leave will be offered on a maximum of three occasions.  Any border line item (ie items where the value does not justify the cost of and required safety checks or other legislative restrictions that may apply to the sale) will be disposed of automatically without reference to you.  This is for the mutual protection of you, our client and ourselves as agents.  If no sale results from the goods entered into Auction or goods remain unsold,  then these items will be recharged all applicable land fill taxes and disposal costs.

SETTLEMENT INVOICE

Your Settlement Invoice will show you the dates on which your goods were offered for sale and the sale price achieved.  The Settlement Invoice will also show you the deductions in line with the Acharges@ above.  Any unsold items will be dealt with as above. If a number of your items remain Aunsold@ after the first sale, they may then be combined to form  larger lots and offered in later sales as detailed on your settlement.  You should therefore be aware that the Settlement Invoice may not directly replicate the presentation of the lots as given in your original Consignment Receipt. Payment will be made between 14 and 28 days after all sale monies have been received and cleared - interim payments are not usually made.

VAT

If you are not VAT registered then the VAT content of the sale will be kept by us and passed to the Revenue on your behalf.

If you are VAT registered then the VAT element of the sale price will be passed to you for accounting.
